Led by Executive Director, Brian McBay, the group started its tour at 222 East Georgia to hear all about the first building operated by 221A and the infamous story of how Grandma Lum negotiated the lease. Then, stopping at the former site of Hong Kong Cafe, the group listened to the generational legacy between Brian’s family-owned bakery and 221A’s beginnings in Chinatown before heading to 825 Pacific Street for communal lunch. A full day of annual planning was facilitated by Khari Wendell McClelland, marking the musician and creative facilitator’s fourth year of supporting 221A.
221A is grateful for the ongoing participation and enthusiasm of the membership.
