221A is thrilled to welcome Justin Ducharme and Ketty Haolin Zhang to the team.
Justin Ducharme is a writer, filmmaker, and curator born and raised in the Métis community of St. Ambroise on Treaty 1 Territory. He is an alumni of the Sundance Film Festival’s Native Film Lab, the Toronto International Film Festival’s Filmmaker Lab and their 2024 TIFF Every Story Accelerator. He is the co-editor of Hustling Verse: An Anthology of Sex Workers Poetry published by Arsenal Pulp Press. His writing has been featured in Canadian Art, Sex Worker Wisdom, Room Magazine, and Filmmaker Mag. He currently lives and works on the Unceded Coast Salish Territory colonially known as Vancouver. As the Assistant Curator at 221A, Justin brings his communal and knowledge-sharing approach to curating Programs including the 221A Fellowship, Fellowship Library and x̱aw̓s shew̓áy̓.
Ketty Haolin Zhang is a visual artist and a cultural worker. She was born and raised in Chaoyang, China. Informed by her diasporic experience as a 1.5-generation immigrant settler, her art practice navigates her relationship with placelessness, liminality and (non)belonging in a hyper-globalized world. As the Assistant Digital Storyteller at 221A, she looks forward to transforming innovative ideas into digital media projects that highlight stories from the community.
Please help us in welcoming Justin and Ketty!
