Rent includes internet, utilities, and common area cleaning. The space is one of 10 artist studios at 1265 Howe, a purpose-built artist production building leased by 221A in Autumn 2019. The building comprises 10,800ft² over two floors, with a community of artists and designers and non-profit Malaspina Printmakers Society. The facility is managed based on a cost-recovery model that sets rental rates according to the overall cost of operating the facility. 221A operates its artist studios on a "cost-recovery model." This model creates a rental rate for each tenant based on the total cost of operating each building.

  • self-identify as an Artist;
  • be the age of majority;
  • be living in BC; 
  • intend on using the premises in a manner that is compatible with facility purposes and capacity

Small cultural nonprofits or businesses must:

  • operate a genuine arts and cultural non-profit organization or small cultural business in BC; and
  • intend on using the premises in a manner that is compatible with facility purposes and capacity
