Jessica Wadsworth

Jessica Wadsworth is a filmmaker, producer, and cultural manager based on unceded Coast Salish land. She has worked on a wide range of projects in the performing arts, community-based arts, film, and new media disciplines. She recently produced the web-series “Jason” with Tanis Parenteau and Andrew Genaille for APTN's Lumi service. Prior to that she produced 6 short documentaries for “Being Black in Canada” which screened at 6 different film festivals across Canada.

Jessica’s body of work aims to raise the profile of diverse storytelling through rich visual imagery. She works with a wide range of artists whose lived experiences serve this same purpose. She is a founding member of SEARA, which supports equitable opportunities and artistic creativity in the BIPOC community. She is also a member of Collective Bunch, a non-profit organisation uniting a diverse community of creatives in the screen-based industries, including Indigenous, Black, People of Color, and LGBTQ2S+ members. Jessica was a recipient of Canada Council for the Arts 2022 John Hobday Award in Arts Management and is an active volunteer in the cultural sector.
