Guidelines for Social Media Comments

221A produces and publishes content in line with our organizing values and in working towards a pluralistic society in which all people have the means to access and make culture.

We consider these digital spaces an extension of 221A's facilities and moderate across our social media channels.

The following comments are considered unacceptable and will be removed/hidden: 

  • Hate speech 
  • Profanity, obscenity or vulgarity 
  • Defamation to a person, people, or organization 
  • Name calling and/or personal attacks 
  • Spam comments, such as the same comment posted repeatedly on a profile 
  • Comments whose main purpose is to sell a product 
  • Inappropriate or unrelated links 
  • Threats or comments that suggest committing a criminal act 
  • Content or reasoning based on demonstrably false statements and/or inauthentic content or activity 
  • Language or content that is potentially harmful, advocates harm and/or incites harm or constitutes a potential threat to public or personal safety 
  • Other comments that 221A deems inappropriate or harmful
