It was one lunar year cycle ago that Community Pollinator Oliver Barnes and Research Mentor Erik Benjamins first met on Zoom to discuss their shared love for reflexology walking paths, and how to begin the gentle process of designing and building one for the x̱aw̓s shew̓áy̓ New Growth《新生林》, with the garden’s immediate community of Chinatown seniors at heart. The soft, meandering process of creating the path was one buoyed by the turning seasons and by the blooming of new friendships around the garden, its alleyways, its nearby shores and waterways. We warmly invite you to continue its life of encounters, to come spend some time with the path, at your leisure, at a safe pace, and always– “no pressure.”
