Joni is a media artist, web developer, and arts organizer with a practice spanning technical production, curatorial work, and organizational support. Committed to sustainability and accessibility in experimental media arts, they bring a consistent focus on low-resource, community-oriented approaches to everything they do.
As Facilities Coordinator at 221A, Joni supports site operations, technical coordination, and communications, bringing a thoughtful and hands-on approach to the day-to-day functioning of the organization. They also work as Production Manager for Small File Media Society, producing workshops and an annual festival advocating for low-bandwidth and ecologically minded media practices, and as Co-Curator with XINEMA, an experimental film and expanded cinema series. Joni currently serves as Secretary on the Board of WePress too. Independently, Joni develops bespoke web-based projects for artists and cultural organizations. Previous roles include Co-Director at M:ST Performative Art and Residency Programmer at the Blue Cabin.
