Cathy Xu (they/she) is an emerging writer, artist, home cook, and a second-generation Chinese settler. Their writing and art tell stories about diaspora, time, food, and medicine. Their work has been published in SAD Magazine, ReIssue, with Future Arts Network, and as a group-illustrated card deck, titled Let’s Walk Chinatown! During their Master’s in English, they researched non-linear time in Asian Canadian art and literature as frameworks for finding reference points and building coalition between Asian and Indigenous histories and communities.
They are bringing their experiences in non-profit communications and fundraising at the Pacific Immigrant Resources Society and as the former web editor at SAD Magazine. They currently serve as Project Lead on the Board of Chinatown Today.
