Asia Jong is an independent curator, arts facilitator, administrator, and writer from Armstrong, B.C., who is based in Vancouver, on unceded and traditional xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territories. She is currently interested in exploring the contemporary conditions of love and dating, and her practice often centers on collaboration, in particular engaging friendship and relationship building as a framework for art and exhibition making. She was a co-organizer of the DIY art collective Ground Floor which supported the work of early-emerging artists. Currently, she is working on an exhibition presented by UNIT/PITT that will be located at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and Park, opening fall 2024. Recent curatorial projects include exhibitions at Duplex Artists Society (2021), Or Gallery (2021), and The Alternator (2021) and her essay “Framing Desire: Online dating and the image of the Asian Woman” was recently published by Capture Photography Festival (2024).
