Anju Singh experiments with texture, dynamics, contrast, and articulation in her practice and work as a composer, sound artist, multi-instrumentalist, performer, video artist, illustrator, sculptor, and instrument builder. She deconstructs and reanimates materials and plays with extreme dynamics and boundary-stressing elements. She works as a composer and performer in the areas of music, media arts, performance, theatre, film and opera. She has toured, presented and performed her work across Canada, in Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, and the United States. Her work has been presented by New Music Concerts Toronto, New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA), Vancouver New Music, Canadian League of Composers, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, Bard on the Beach, CEM in Saguenay QC, Two Rivers Gallery, Suoni per il Popolo Festival, Le Vivier, and Continuum Ensemble. Anju is the Director of independently organized festival Vancouver Noise Fest (12 editions), plays in a number of bands, and has a noise/experimental violin project called The Nausea that actively tours and performs live.
