Amany Al-Sayyed is a Palestinian-Lebanese-Canadian instructor of Rhetoric and Composition at the American University of Beirut, currently completing a graduate degree in Communications and Social Justice in Canada. She also holds a graduate degree in World Literature. As an early career scholar and independent researcher, she spent the last ten years in Beirut, Lebanon, unearthing her late father’s legacy as a Palestinian intellectual, novelist and radio broadcaster from the liberation era of Palestine. Her focus is on radio and the writer’s movement simultaneously. Her upbringing was marked by the anti-colonial movement of her father’s decisions as he moved away from the refugee camps into the decolonial European continent of the 80s and 90s. She loves travelling, dancing and supporting liberation wherever she encounters it in the world.
