Alia Hijaab (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist with roots in Syria, Qatar, the southern United States, and now the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh first nations also known as Vancouver, BC. Alia received her Bachelors degree in Animation from Emily Carr University and is now pursuing a Masters in Library and Archival studies at the University of British Columbia. Alia was the Membership & Events Coordinator at 221A from 2024-2025. Alia meanders through multiple practices but always comes back to belonging, storytelling, and remembering in her work.
