Jes (she/they) is an interdisciplinary designer and performance artist who works in architecture. She is a second-generation settler of Czech-Cantonese heritage, raised on the lands of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Chonnonton peoples, now residing on the lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlilwətaɬ Nations. She has supported the design of homes across the housing continuum, including supportive housing, multifamily, single-family, and intergenerational social housing, as well as other building types like arts & cultural spaces and health clinics. Jes is the Editorial Lead at Chinatown Today and also volunteers with the Vancouver Cantonese Opera. The fields that influence her work include trauma-informed design, somatic studies, feminist new materialism, ornamentalism, and speculative fiction.
