Born in Lucknow, India, artist and filmmaker Manizhe Ali received a BFA from Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi in 1996 and an MA in Visual and Media Anthropology from the Freie Universität, Berlin in 2012. She has been associated with the KaraFilm Festival as a member of the organizing committee and was part of the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2010. Ali has a constant need to tell stories and each story demands its own medium. The medium may vary but the heart remains constant. Ali calls the city of chaos Karachi her home; and currently works and lives there.
