Throughout her personal and professional life, Kira has built her expertise in people-centric, anti-oppressive community engagement. Kira has participated in many projects, but a few highlights are her work with the Sexual & Gender Diversity Health Equity Collaborative supporting their community outreach and engagement work, her contributions to the City of Vancouver’s Trans & Gender Variant Inclusion as a steering committee member, her experience as a board member for Peernet BC, and her long-time volunteer work with Yarrow Intergenerational Society for Justice helping to plan quarterly events, participating in Chinatown Cares (delivery of groceries) for low income immigrant seniors in Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside. As recognition of her excellence in community work, Kira was a recent recipient of the “Healthy City Awards with the City of Vancouver."
