Emerald Asuncion

Emerald Asuncion (she/siya) is a second-generation immigrant and child of diasporic peoples of Bikolano, Masbateño, and Ilocano descent from the island arkipelago of the so-called Philippines, a textile creative and aspiring Sari-Sari store owner. Recognizing almost two decades ago a holistic perspective and wandering wonder to un-learn colonial ways of being/thinking and re-place the re-membering within; she has since embraced her intuitive abilities as a connector of people, holding space for information and change in spiritual connection to the land, community and culture.

Uniquely navigating a wide spectrum of environments and experiences by building relations centred in reciprocity, her offerings seek intentional cultivation of confident communities and celebrating culture through co-visioned and co-created platforms. She has been moving in these intentions, in these times, as Vice President of the Board with Kathara Pilipino Arts Society since 2018.
