Chen Feng

Chen Feng received the B.Eng. degree from the Department of Electronic and Communications Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2006, and the M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Toronto, Canada, in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

From 2014 to 2015, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Boston University, USA, and Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He joined the School of Engineering, University of British Columbia, Kelowna, Canada, in July 2015, where he is currently an Associate Professor and Principal’s Research Chair in Blockchain. He is a co-cluster lead of Blockchain@UBC. He is interested in adapting new ideas and tools from information theory, coding theory, stochastic processes, and optimization to design better communication networks, with a particular emphasis on blockchain technology.
