You Are Not Alone (For I am Here With You)

August 2012 – March 2013

Initiated by Amy Fung as part of 221A’s 2012-13 Curatorial Residency program, You Are Not Alone, For I Am Here With You aims to build a platform for alternative strategies in arts writing. The project will unfold as a curated series of events that includes open workshops running once a month that will combine writing exercises with critical reading and discussions to collectively ask and deliberate: “What is arts writing?”
The act of writing will be intertwined with navigating our city streets, buildings, and negotiating our relationships to public and private space with conscious gestures of mark making. Vancouver is a city in flux and writing is one of the most powerful tools we can engage to record and reconsider our own myths and histories.
