Día de los Muertos

Join us on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 2-5pm at the x̱aw̓s shew̓áy̓ New Growth《新生林》garden for a special Día de los Muertos celebration hosted by Watari. The event will feature a printmaking workshop for all ages and a traditional “ofrenda” (altar) set up to honour and welcome back the departed spirits of loved ones. Warm food and beverages will be served (limited quantities, arrive early).
The event coincides with the launch of Stolon Mesh, a community mesh network seeded by 221A that offers free wifi to users in Vancouver’s DTES & Chinatown. The network’s first node is located within the x̱aw̓s shew̓áy̓ New Growth《新生林》garden. Come log on to the network with neighbours on Nov. 2, and learn more about the project!
