Hannah Dempsey is the Collections Auxiliary at 221A. She was born in High River, Alberta and currently resides in Vancouver. She graduated from Emily Carr University in 2016, with a major in Visual Arts and a minor in Art/Text. Her practice uses repetitious and exaggerated gestures to examine the effects of anxiety and information overload on the processes of reading, viewing, and making. From 2013-14, Hannah worked as a co-op student with the ECU Artists’ Book Collection, developing a strong interest in art librarianship, and the function of libraries in relation to contemporary art practices.
